Peter Mazzarolo - Personal Trainer/Owner

​Pete became interested in athletics at a young age; playing a variety of sports right here in Burnaby. In 2008 he decided to start his career in Personal Training which lead to the opening of Capitol Hill Athletics. Pete works with clients of all ages, and he offers a training style that is appropriate for a wide range of athletic abilities using a variety of training modalities to keep clients challenged in a fun and dynamic environment.

Fun Fact: Pete was a figure skater at age 4. Figure skating lead Pete to ice hockey, which he enjoyed playing for many years

Matthew Liao - Manual Osteopath / Strength & Conditioning Specialist / Kinesiologist

Matthew has spent the past 9 years honing his skills as a strength coach and health professional by working with individuals through the grassroots level to high performance. His rehabilitation and training approach is centered around building a rigid body for injury prevention to allow individuals to be as widely capable in their daily physical activities. 

Fun Fact: Matthew is a competitive Spikeball player.

Amal has been working in the fitness industry since 2017. His journey began like most adolescents, wanting to look muscular. However, being unequipped and uneducated led to injuries. Through his recovery, he has found his passion in supporting people through preventative and post-injury care. He enjoys getting to meet new people and supporting them through their journey. Amal believes that optimal health can be achieved by having a good relationship with food and exercise while having some laughs along the way. When he is not in the gym, you’ll catch him with his Sony A7C capturing memories, shopping at lululemon, eating instant noodles, or scrolling through Instagram watching cats.

Arianne Liu - Personal Traîner / Trauma-Informed Practice Training LEVEL 1 
 
Arianne grew up active and has been in the fitness industry since 2011. During her youth, she did competitive dance with Goh Ballet Academy and played Netball in the BC Winter Games. Arianne also competed in the Bikini category in the Sandra Wickham Fall Classic Bodybuilding Competition. Over the years, she has struggled with her mental health, body image, and her relationship with food. Through years of inner work and healing through different modalities such as therapy, journalling, meditation, and yoga; she is now a strong advocate for self-love and sustainable habits. Arianne has developed a passion for helping people build a healthy relationship with themselves through movement and coaching. Her goal is to empower people to be mentally and physically stronger through an anti-oppressive approach inside and outside of the gym. Outside of the gym, you’ll find Arianne strutting her favourite Crocs, hunting for the best spicy chips and deep diving on TikTok.

Jeff Iwanaka has been in the fitness industry since 2001 and over the years has accumulated over 20,000 personal training hours. He has worked with a wide range of clients from the overweight person trying to improve their body composition, the bodybuilder looking to add lean muscle mass, the professional athlete, the celebrity, the senior looking to strengthen their body and move better,  to the busy professional who needs a coach to hold them accountable to maximize their results.

Jeff is a registered kinesiologist with BCAK, a certified human movement specialist, a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and certified in Functional Range Conditioning.

Please note if you have kinesiology benefits or have been injured in a car accident, you may qualify for rehabilitation through your insurance.
